Meta integration: the full picture

How the connection works, what gets created where, and the order to do things in.

Connecting Meta to Zymblersounds like one step, but it's really four assets working together. Understanding the relationships upfront makes the rest of the setup obvious.

The four Meta assets you'll touch

  • Meta Business Account (a.k.a. portfolio) — the legal container at business.facebook.com. Owns everything else.
  • Facebook Page— your business's public Page. Required to run Lead Ads and receive Messenger DMs.
  • Instagram Business account — must be a Business or Creator account (not Personal), and must be linked to your Facebook Page.
  • WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) — the WhatsApp equivalent of your Facebook Page. Holds one or more phone numbers.

How they connect

What happens during connection

When you click Connect Meta in Zymbler, a Meta popup opens and walks you through:

  • Selecting which Business Account to connect.
  • Authorising Zymbler to read from and write to specific assets (Pages, IG accounts, WABA).
  • For WhatsApp: picking or creating a WABA, picking or adding a phone number, setting a Display Name, optionally adding a payment method.

When the popup closes, Zymbler stores per-asset access tokens, subscribes each asset to webhooks, and shows you a dashboard with everything that was connected.

What Zymbler does NOT do

  • Manage your Meta billing. WhatsApp conversation fees are charged by Meta directly to your business — never through Zymbler.
  • Post on your behalf without your knowledge.The AI agent only sends messages that match the flows you've built.
  • Share your data with other Zymbler customers. Every workspace is isolated.

The order to do things in

Some pieces depend on others. The shortest path:

  1. Create your Meta Business Account (if you don't have one).
  2. Add a Facebook Page and make sure you're Admin on it.
  3. Convert Instagram to Business and link it to the Page (skip if you don't need IG).
  4. Free up your WhatsApp number (if it's on the consumer app today).
  5. Start Business Verification — runs in parallel, 3–7 day queue.
  6. In Zymbler: click Settings → Integrations → Connect Meta.
  7. Wait for Display Name approval (24h–7d).
Pro tip
You can start using Zymblerfor Lead Ads and Messenger immediately after connecting — only the branded WhatsApp sender name waits on Display Name approval. The number can send and receive messages from the moment it's verified with OTP.
