Meta's signup popup shows why a number can't connect with coexistence. Match its message to a fix, and sort out missing chat history.
If Meta turned your number down while you were connecting WhatsApp, the reason is in the message Meta showed in its signup popup. Find that message below and follow the fix next to it. If you connected but chat history, replies or the connection went missing, go to After you connect.
Coexistence means keeping your number on the WhatsApp Business app, where Meta allows it, while it also works in Zymbler. For how it works when nothing goes wrong, see the WhatsApp coexistence guide. Meta's rules here are as of October 2026.
These are the errors Meta lists for connecting a number that is on the WhatsApp Business app. The quoted text is Meta's.
Meta's fix: “More activity on the WhatsApp Business App is needed to help determine eligibility.” Use the number in the Business app for real conversations, then try again. Meta doesn't say how much activity is enough or how long to wait. Any fixed number of days you read elsewhere doesn't come from Meta.
Meta adds: “Enter a phone number from a different region to continue.” Meta's current guide lists no excluded countries, but this error still exists, so a number can be refused on region alone. If you have a number from another region, use that one. Otherwise see If the number can't use coexistence below.
Meta adds: “To use this feature, register your number with the WhatsApp Business app or enter a different number.” The number is probably on the regular WhatsApp app (green icon). Back up your chats, install WhatsApp Business on the same phone, let it move the number and your chats, then connect again. Meta may still want more activity on the Business app before it accepts the number.
Coexistence needs WhatsApp Business app version 2.24.17 or higher. Update the app on the phone that holds the number and start the connection again.
Meta adds: “Switching partners is not supported in this flow. Disconnect the current partner in the WhatsApp Business App, then return here to connect a new partner.” In the Business app, go to Settings → Account → Business Platform and tap Disconnect Account, then connect from Zymbler. Meta also notes that if you worked with a provider before and still share their credit line, you may see an error when switching. Ask the old provider to stop sharing it.
In our experience this is what sits behind messages like “already connected to another provider”. Those exact words aren't on Meta's list; the closest are this error and the next one, “Please disconnect your business platform to continue.”
Meta's fix: “Disconnect it from the current account by opening the WhatsApp Business App, then go to Settings > Account > Business Platform. Select the connected business platform and tap "Disconnect". Please wait 15 minutes before retrying this process.” If it still appears after that, see ‘Phone Number In Use’ error.
Meta's fix: “Go to your WhatsApp Business App > Settings > Account > Business Platform. Click on the connected business platform and "Disconnect". Please wait for 15 minutes before retrying.”
Open Channels and read the import status under the number. Zymbler shows one of:
Zymbler asks Meta for the history automatically when you connect, and Meta shares it once, within 24 hours of connecting. If that window passes, the only way to get history is to disconnect the number in the Business app and connect again. History covers up to 6 months of one-to-one chats and no group chats. Zymbler doesn't import the files themselves: photos, voice notes, videos and documents from before you connected show as a placeholder such as [Photo]. The originals stay in the app on your phone.
That is expected. A reply you send from the WhatsApp Business app shows in the chat in Zymbler and hands that chat to a person, so the agent stops replying in it. To have the agent pick it back up after a quiet period of 1 to 24 hours, turn on Let the AI pick the conversation back up in Settings → Workspace. Messages you send from the app don't open or extend the 24-hour window for the agent. See The 24-hour customer service window.
If a customer's first message shows in Zymbler as “WhatsApp didn't pass this message on”, read it in the WhatsApp Business app. Meta says this is expected for a customer's first message to a number that is also on the app. The agent doesn't reply to these, so answer from the app or the inbox.
Meta can disconnect the number from Zymbler if the phone with the WhatsApp Business app hasn't been used for about 14 days. It also disconnects it if you register the number on the regular WhatsApp app or re-register the Business app on a new device. Open the Business app, then connect the number again from Channels. When you set up the Business app on a new phone, keep the option to reconnect your connected products checked.
Meta decides, and a refused number can stay refused. You have two routes:
If Meta says the number is already in use, start with ‘Phone Number In Use’ error.
