Zymbler shows Meta's rejection code next to a rejected template. Match it to the cause, fix the text, and submit it under a new name.
On Zymbler's Templates page, a rejected template shows “Reason:” followed by Meta's rejection code, such as INVALID_FORMAT. Match that reason to the list below, change the text, and submit a corrected template under a new name. Meta's rules here are as of October 2026.
Zymbler shows Meta's code. Meta defines them this way: INVALID_FORMAT means the template has an invalid format. INCORRECT_CATEGORY and TAG_CONTENT_MISMATCH mean the content doesn't match the category you chose. ABUSIVE_CONTENT, PROMOTIONAL and SCAM mean the content violates Meta's policies. Meta lists these as common causes:
Zymbler checks variable order, start and end, and side-by-side variables before it submits, so those causes mostly apply to templates made in WhatsApp Manager.
If you chose utility and Meta decides it is marketing, the template is approved as marketing, and the price follows the new category. Meta usually gives 1 day's notice before moving an approved utility template to marketing (not once it has warned you about that template's category), and the template stays Approved and usable. To ask for a review, use Template Category Updates in WhatsApp Manager.
Option A, in Zymbler. Zymbler has no edit or resubmit button. Delete the rejected template, then create a corrected one under a new name: Channels → Templates → New template (or Write your own instead if the account has no templates left). Zymbler's delete dialog warns that Meta reserves the name for 30 days, so a new name is the safe choice.
Option B, in WhatsApp Manager. Meta says a rejected template can be edited and resubmitted, or appealed. In WhatsApp Manager, open Account tools → Message templates and click the template. Edit it, add sample values with Add Sample, and click Submit. An appeal must include a sample, and Meta says it decides within 24 hours. Meta also lists rejections in Business Support Home, under Account Overview → View my accounts → your business → your WhatsApp account → Rejected message templates. If you made the template in Zymbler, it keeps its row there, and its new status shows the next time you open Templates. Templates created in WhatsApp Manager appear marked “From WhatsApp Manager”.
