“This number can’t be shared with this app”: WhatsApp fix
It usually means the number is still tied to another provider. Disconnect that provider in the WhatsApp Business app, wait 15 minutes, then connect again.
You were connecting a number that's on the WhatsApp Business app, and Meta's connect window showed this message:
Ineligible: this number can't be shared with this app
In the cases we've seen, the number's WhatsApp Business account was still tied to another provider: connected to their platform, or still on their credit line. Meta's connect window won't move a number from one provider to another for you.
How to fix it
Find the connected provider
On the phone with the number, open the WhatsApp Business app and go to Settings → Account → Business Platform. If a provider is listed there, the number is still connected to it.Disconnect it
Back up your chats first, as Meta advises. Then tap the provider's name and tap Disconnect Account. The number stays on the app. Anything the old provider runs on the number, such as its inbox or automated replies, stops.Wait 15 minutes
Meta asks you to “wait 15 minutes before retrying this process.”Connect again
In Zymbler, open Channels and connect WhatsApp again. Sign in to Facebook with an account that's an Admin of the business portfolio that holds the number.
Still seeing it?
An old provider's credit line
A provider can pay Meta's message fees for you by sharing its credit line with your WhatsApp Business account. Meta notes that you “may see an error when attempting to switch to a new partner” if a past partner still shares its credit line with you. Meta's fix: back up your chats, disconnect in the WhatsApp Business app, reconnect there, then connect to the new provider again. If it still fails, ask the old provider to stop sharing its credit line with your account.
The number isn't on the WhatsApp Business app
The steps above are for numbers on the Business app. If the number is on the regular WhatsApp app, or only on another provider's platform with no app on a phone, see Use a number that's already on WhatsApp.
A different message
Meta shows other refusals for Business app numbers, such as “Your phone number isn't eligible to connect to the WhatsApp Business Platform.” Each has its own fix, listed in WhatsApp coexistence not working or number ineligible.
